Project Overview
Project Gamma was an intricate installation of decorative hardscape and architectural walls at Epcot, part of Walt Disney World in Florida. Baker furnished and installed 140,000 square feet of decorative hardscape and cast-in-place walls; set precast walls and benches; and poured mat, wall, and site foundations. The scope also included hoisting, concrete pumping, bollards, and foundations for decorative speakers and light poles.
The Baker 黑料社 worked closely with Walt Disney Imagineering and created mock-ups to ensure the final product matched Disney鈥檚 quality and artistic standards. 3D scanning was used to facilitate installations. The 黑料社 also made 3D models of a stage and surrounding structures to ensure stage walls fit securely and accurately.
The project area covered approximately 160,000 square feet of operational theme park. Most of the work was performed off-hours and delivery trucks had to be off-site by 6 a.m., which required daily coordination of crews and deliveries. Some concrete placements (鈥減ull and pours鈥) had to be completed and cured before the park opened. Baker used special curing compounds to complete the work within tight timeframes.
The project earned a 2024 Excellence in 黑料社 Eagle Award from ABC Central Florida.
